1. White
If you’re searching for the most common cat colors, white is probably one of them!
Many cats have white on their coats. Some animals, such as snowy white cats, have no other color but white. While many believe white cats are albino, this is not the case. Most white cats get white coats because of a gene called ‘W.’
When a cat possesses the W gene, the instructions for generating coat pigment from other genes are obscured. As a result, their fur is white instead.
White cats’ nose leather and toe beans are usually pink. Their eyes can be blue, green, copper, or golden.
2. Black

The fur, nose leather, and paw pads are all black. Sun discoloration can cause black cats to seem brownish. The pigment eumelanin gives black cats their inky coats. The cat community refers to the gene responsible for eumelanin synthesis as the ‘B’ gene.
Many cat breeds come in black. Bombay cats are noted for being completely black.
While many people find cats with full black coats unlucky when they cross your paths, nothing can be further from the truth. This superstition is an unsupported myth. Interestingly, it’s reported that historically, black cats were said to bring good luck to sailors as they ensured a safe return home. They were usually brought into ships to hunt mice and protect their food onboard.
3. Red (Orange or Ginger)

There are many different names for the red color for cats. You may have heard of them referred to as ginger, orange, and marmalade. It is available in various red shades ranging from very warm and deep red to yellowish. They have brick red or pink nose leather and paw pads.
Each red tabby has a unique color, although they all carry a pigment called pheomelanin in their fur. This pigment is also responsible for red hair in humans.
Red cats typically mature with green, bronze, copper, or golden eyes. Red cats, especially the red tabby, are a popular kind of cat featured in TV, film, and literature. Garfield is a red tabby, and so is Dreamwork’s Puss in Boots. In the folk story Dick Whittington and His Cat, the cat there was described as a red tabby.
4. Chocolate

Of course, as the name suggests, this cat color evokes a grounded appearance. Cats with a chocolate coloration have an inviting dark brown hue. The leather of the nose is a dark chocolate color, while the color of the paw pads ranges from a brownish salmon pink to a milk chocolate hue.
Because of this, their coat is a deep chocolate brown color. However, it is sometimes referred to as sepia, chestnut, or sable.
Among the most well-known brown cats is called the Havana Brown.
5. Cinnamon
Cinnamon is another color that could top the most beautiful cat color list.
A cinnamon stick is a good comparison for the color of the cat’s coat, which is a warm light brown.
Cinnamon brown can be seen on the nose leather, and the color of the paw pads ranges from cinnamon brown to a pinkish tan. A lighter version of chocolate is cinnamon.
The color of cinnamon is described as being between red and auburn.
Cinnamon is a rather unique cat color. Cinnamon coloring can be found in Oriental Shorthairs and Burmese cats, and practically all Abyssinian cats have a cinnamon coat with darker ticking layered on top of the cinnamon coloring.
6. Blue (Gray)

In cats, the cream color is a light red color. The color is soft, with a pastel cream tone that ranges from hazy yellow to near pumpkin. Pink leather covers the paw pads and nose.
Cream can appear in various patterns, from a full cream tabby cat to a cream-colored pointed cat. While cream is becoming more common among purebred cats, it is still relatively rare in domesticated, non-pedigreed felines.
Cat breeds with cream color points include the Shorthair, Persian, and Birman Cats.
8. Lilac (Soft Brown)
One of the most beautiful cat colors, Lilac or lavender cats, looks like a cat from a pastel drawing.
Lilac or lavender cats are not purple, as the name implies, but they have a relatively light, almost dusty tint.
Even in cats with a pedigree, this hue is highly unusual from a genetic point of view.

The fawn color is a recessive gene variation of the cinnamon color that is diminished by a dense pigment gene. To be fawn-colored, a cat must have a recessive homozygote for the primary coat color gene and a recessive homozygote for the dense pigment gene.
10. Amber
The amber cat color is arguably the rarest in the world!
Amber was once known as X-Colour. It is a yellow recessive coat color seen only in the Norwegian Forest Cat (NFC) population but not in other cat breeds.
To this day, no scientific proof of a yellow recessive mutation (e) in the extension gene in Felidae has been published.
Amber is a coat effect that turns black hair into yellow hair, giving amber cats a warm golden tint. The impact of amber will vary depending on the base color: black amber cats have a bright red color, while blue amber (also known as pale amber) has a more peach/cream color.
The amber effect only affects hair, not skin: a black amber cat will have dark paw pads.
Amber solid cats (also known as non-agouti) have a distinct appearance, appearing tabby but with a dark nose. As a result, solid amber cats are frequently referred to as black noses.
